SAP Basis - the secure foundation of the SAP system
After the addition of Java Stack (the applications developed in J2EE, BSP, JSP, etc.), the security standard for business processes was increased. Both ABAP and Java stack can be monitored from one platform. Netweaver supports standard protocols such as HTTP, SMTP, XML, SOAP, SSO, WEBDAV, WSDL, WMLSSO, SSL, X.509 and Unicode format (text processing representation).
Administrators often need to replicate part or all of a database, for example, to create a system backup or test an upgrade before putting it into production. In the past, this was surprisingly difficult to do with most databases. With HANA, replication works instantly and offers richer features and better control than previous databases.

In order to meet the growing integration and coordination between internal IT departments and external service providers and suppliers, it is necessary to include a company-wide interface department in the IT organisation. The SAP basis can assume the coordination role and interface function in the environment of SAP products and technologies.

In order to better assess the potential and impact of blockchain technology, various companies from different technologies and, in particular, financial sectors have joined forces in consortia in recent years: The R3 Consortium, which is primarily a consortium of about 80 financial sector companies (UBS, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, ...). The IoT Consortium, which includes Bosch Ltd, Cisco Systems Inc, is investigating how blockchain technology can be used to secure and improve IoT networks. More than 120 financial, banking, IoT and industrial companies have joined the Hyperledger (Enterprise Ethereum Alliance) consortium.
