An alternative to using the S_TABU_LIN authorization object is to create custom table views that make organisational delimitation easier to achieve. To do this, create a new view in the SE11 transaction and add the table to which the constraint will apply on the Tables/Join Conditions tab. The Selection Conditions tab allows you to specify your restrictive organisational condition in the form of a field and a field value. You then authorise all relevant users to access the view, which contains only data for your organisational restriction.

The change management process in the SAP® environment can be quite complex. Since program changes are usually transported into the production system, which can potentially have an impact on the annual financial statements, the audit of the process is an essential part of the annual financial statement audit. For this reason, it must be ensured that the process documentation is up-to-date and complete. It must also be ensured that appropriate classifications are defined for various types of change. This is because the process may subsequently differ for each classification. For example, the extent of the test and release steps varies depending on the criticality of the change, and they may even be shortened considerably for low-risk changes. However, it is crucial to justify this in a comprehensible manner. In the change management process, a sufficient test and release phase should be set up by the responsible department. This process step must also be documented in a comprehensible manner, even if it is not always easy to obtain the necessary evidence from the departments. In this process in particular, it is crucial that a clear dual control principle is established, which ensures that the developer is not also the person who ultimately carries out the transport into the productive environment. In preparation, the documentation should therefore be checked for completeness and up-to-dateness and, in a further step, whether the process defined in it has also been followed throughout the year.

A careless handling of the permissions with sensitive employee data can go quite nicely in the pants. Prevent uncontrolled and extensive reporting access to your HCM data by properly using the P_ABAP authorization object. In many companies, the correct use of P_ABAP is not known. As a result, there are often false expressions that, in the worst case, allow uncontrolled reporting access to all data in the logical database PNPCE (or PNP). This way, you can again erase your access restrictions, which were previously painstakingly defined in a permission concept. Therefore, it is necessary to test the use of P_ABAP in individual cases and to use the existing limitations. In the following we describe the logic behind this authorization object and what it is important to avoid.

If a user is assigned SAP_ALL, he has all permissions in an ABAP system. Therefore, particular care should be taken in the dedicated award of this entitlement. SAP_ALL can be generated automatically when you transport authorization objects. The SAP_ALL_GENERATION parameter must be maintained in the PRGN_CUST table.

However, if your Identity Management system is currently not available or the approval path is interrupted, you can still assign urgently needed authorizations with "Shortcut for SAP systems".

SAPconnect uses the S/MIME (Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) standard for signing when sending emails or for verifying and decrypting received emails.

You will receive a list of all matching roles in the SUPC transaction by selecting the Also-to-be-matched roles option, and you can now gradually update the roles.
