Customizing
Organisationally restrict table editing permissions
You can do without taking obsolete profile data into account by adding the correction from SAP Note 1819126 and then setting the REC_OBSOLETE_AUTHS customising switch to NO in the table PRGN_CUST. This correction is also important because it fixes runtime problems when releasing role transports, resulting from the correction in SAP Note 1614407. As a general rule, you should always run bulk transport sharing in the background.

Increasingly, it is possible to make use of automation in the security environment. Although these are not yet used by many companies, they are the next step in digital transformation. By using automation intelligently, companies can free up resources for the innovation topics that really matter. In the future, we can expect both the number and power of automation tools to increase. It is therefore only a matter of time before SAP itself also delivers optimized support in the form of tools as standard.
Grant permission for external services from SAP CRM
Authorizations are used to map the organizational structure, business processes and separation of functions. Therefore, they control the access options of users in the SAP system. The security of business data depends directly on the authorizations assigned. For this reason, the assignment of authorizations must be well planned and executed in order to achieve the desired security.

Historically grown authorization structures can be found especially in system landscapes that have been in operation for a long time. Instead of small, modular, job-specific roles, existing roles are continually expanded and assigned to different employees in different departments. While this leads to less administrative work in the short term, it causes the complexity of the role to increase massively over time. As a result, the efficiency of authorization development is increasingly lost.

Assigning a role for a limited period of time is done in seconds with "Shortcut for SAP systems" and allows you to quickly continue your go-live.

In the SPTH table, you can define access rights for paths and whether you want to perform an additional permission check on the S_PATH object.

You can recognise transactions by the clock symbol ( ).
