Transaction SU53 can be used to immediately display the missing authorizations for a single SAP user. This is advantageous when individual background processing or activities are not executed correctly and the cause is suspected to be missing authorizations. In this way, the cause of the error can be narrowed down more quickly.
When creating the permission concept, a naming convention is defined for PFCG roles. Every customer has his own preferences or specifications, which must be adhered to. According to our project experience, some naming conventions are particularly attractive. Naming conventions for PFCG roles can be very diverse. You will have noticed that even the roles provided by SAP do not correspond to a uniform naming convention. So there are roles whose names start with SAP_. There are also roles, such as for the SRM system, that start with the /SAPSRM/ namespace. In this tip we would like to give you some hints and criteria that you can use to help define a naming convention of PFCG roles.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the role-based authorizations in SAP SuccessFactors and I'm glad the system has such extensive capabilities. To review your need for action in this area, I advise you to ask yourself the following questions: Do you know which users get which SAP authorizations and why? Can you explain the concept to your data protection officer? Is it easy for you to introduce a new process because you know how the authorizations work? If you have to answer "no" here (several times), I recommend you to dedicate yourself to the topic. It will make their lives easier in the future. If you need help with this, feel free to contact us!
Dialogue users are intended for use by natural persons who log in to the SAP system via SAP GUI (dialogue login). The dialogue user is therefore the most frequently used user type. The defined password rules apply to him. If the password is set by the administrator, it will get Initial status and must be set by the user at login again to get Productive status.
Authorizations can also be assigned via "Shortcut for SAP systems".
The role concept provides that each user can only process the tasks to which he is authorized.
The authorization concept specifies all requirements for the assignment of SAP authorizations.
