Technical application support
SAP Basis is the technical basis and IT structure for each SAP system without which the system is not functional. The SAP base includes some administration tools and middleware programmes and is tasked with ensuring a portable and compatible operation of the SAP system with other operating systems and databases. The SAP base is built as a three-layer model and contains the following components: a database layer, an application layer and a presentation layer.
